Upgrading Legacy Charts

IBM® Cognos® Report Studio version 10.1.0 includes a new default chart technology. You can continue to use and work with legacy charts or upgrade your legacy charts to current default charts.

When you open a report that uses legacy charts, the legacy charts are not upgraded to current default charts automatically. You can upgrade your legacy charts one at a time to current default charts. For more information, see Convert Charts From One Type to Another.

When you add a new chart to a report, Report Studio adds a current default chart. If you want to add new legacy charts or continue to work with existing legacy charts, set the Use legacy chart authoring option (Tools, Options, Advanced tab).
