You can leverage existing reports by converting
them to active reports.
Procedure
Open the report that you want to convert.
From the File menu, click Convert
to Active Report.
Results
IBM® Cognos® Active Report menu items, objects,
and properties become available in IBM Cognos Report Studio. Objects
in the report that are not supported in active reports, such as prompt
controls in report pages, are removed.
