Apply Padding to an Object

Apply padding to an object to add white space between the object and its margin or, if there is a border, between the object and its border.
Tip: You can quickly apply left or right padding by either pressing Tab and Shift+Tab or by clicking the increase indent increase indent icon and the decrease indent buttons in the toolbar. When using the toolbar buttons, you can indent an object by up to nine times the indentation length. You can specify the indentation length to use by clicking the arrow beside either button and clicking Set Default Indent Length.
Tip: The GO Balance Sheet as at Dec 31 2012 sample report in the GO Data Warehouse (analysis) package includes padding. For more information about The Sample Outdoors Company samples, see Sample Reports and Packages.

Procedure

  1. Select the object to which to apply padding.
  2. In the Properties pane, double-click the Padding property.
  3. Specify top, bottom, left, and right padding by typing values in the corresponding boxes and choosing the unit of measure.
Note: Specifying padding using % as the unit of measure is not supported when producing reports in PDF.
