Configure access to personal data sets to give
both users and administrators access to My Data Sets functionality.
Note: To
use the Data Sets administration page, a user must have execute and
traverse permissions for both the
Administration capability
and the
My Data Sets Administration capability.
If you assign system access using the
predefined Cognos® roles,
then by default a user must be assigned to both the Directory Administrators
and Servers Administrators role to use the Data Sets administration
page.
Procedure
- In IBM Cognos Administration, click
the Security tab, and then click Capabilities.
- Select the appropriate capability for either users or administrators.
- If you are setting access for users, click the actions button for My
Data Sets, and click Set properties.
- If you are setting access for administrators, click the Administration link,
then click the actions button for My Data Sets Administration,
and click Set properties.
- Click the Permissions tab.
- Remove Execute and Traverse permissions
from the Everyone group.
- Select the users that you want to have access to the capability
that you selected and assign each one both Execute and Traverse permissions.
Tip: If you do not assign both Execute and Traverse permissions,
the user will not be able to use the My Data Sets feature.

more information about setting permissions, see Setting Access to Secured Functions or Features.
