You can add or change the titles for the chart,
legend, and axes.
You can add text titles that are descriptive,
such as Revenue by product line in 2005. You can use data items
as titles. For example, if you have several charts showing revenue
by product line for each year, you can drag the year data item to
the chart title for each chart.
Procedure
- To add a chart title, do the following:
- Select the chart object.
- In the Properties pane, click Title,
and type a chart title.
- To add a data item in the chart title, change to the Page
Design view and drag a data item to the report title area
on the chart.
- To add a legend title, do the following:
- Select the legend chart object.
- In the Properties pane, click Legend
title and specify the title.The default title is the name
of the data item.
- To add a data item in the legend title, change to the Page
Design view and drag a data item to the legend title area
on the chart.
Note: If you add a data item to your legend
title, when you are in Page Preview view, you
cannot edit the data item. To edit the chart title, you must switch
to the Page Design view.
- To add an axis title, do the following:
- Select the axis chart object.
- In the Properties pane, click Axis
title and specify the title.The default title is the name
of the data item.
- To add a data item as an axis title, change to the Page
Design view and drag a data item to the axis title area
on the chart.
